The Edinburgh Whisky Festival 2018

Saturday 16th June 2018

The Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, EH2 2LR

Edinburgh here we come and it’s our birthday…

Who would have thought it’s been a year since the Whisky Lounge wagon rolled into town! This year is not to be missed as we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary – Help us celebrate it in style!

The_Whisky_Weekend_2017_128_4251If you haven’t been to one of our legendary festivals before you are in for a treat! If you have then you know what to expect, only this year we are back bigger and better. As well as the usual shenanigans, we have a few more surprises for you….

You’ll get to sample the best home-

The_Whisky_Weekend_2017_099_4192grown whiskies from Scotland, as well as all corners of the globe; The Edinburgh Whisky Festival attracts the finest distillers from as far afield as Taiwan, India, Japan and the USA. Simply approach any of the exhibitor stands, ask politely for a dram and you shall
receive a tasty glass of whisky (it really is that simple!). Every exhibitor knows their whiskies inside out and it’s well worth taking advantage of this knowledge.
You can also sign up to our new-look masterclasses with the whisky-world’s most renowned experts (our own Eddie included!) and experience some rare ‘under the counter’ drams. And because it’s our 10th birthday, we’ve got some exciting stuff lined up that we can’t talk about just yet…so watch this space!

Ash-Coctail-picClasses & Workshops

As you’d expect, we’re running our famous blending workshops and masterclasses. But as 2018 is our 10th birthday, we’re working on some new ideas to broaden your minds, heighten the senses, and keep you coming back for more! You can book onto these nearer the time.

Under the Counter Dram tokens

The vast majority of whiskies at the festival are available to taste within your ticket price. However, we recommend you take the opportunity to sample some of the rarer, more exclusive whiskies by purchasing Under the Counter dram tokens on the day.

Show your Under the Counter dram tokens to an exhibitor and wait their nod of approval as they reveal their secret stash.

There are two tiers of tokens which can be purchased on the day, and exchanged for different levels of whisky:

  • Orange tokens £10 each
  • Black tokens £20 each

Please note: Due to Edinburgh Council restrictions, exhibitors are not allowed to pour less than a 25ml measure for these tokens. Therefore we have had to double the price of tokens to take this into account. However, bear in mind you will be receiving a full 25ml measure which you may choose to share with a friend…

The Festival Shop

We are excited to announce that we have Royal Mile Whiskies providing the retail shop in the show to take care of all your purchasing needs and selling every whisky that you will find in the show.

…will keep appearing here at regular intervals, please keep checking back to see what distilleries are in store for you!

The boring bit

Please, please ensure you buy tickets for the right session. We set strict limits on the number of tickets for each session so visitors can enjoy their whisky at their own pace. We are unable to swap tickets on the day. But, we’re mostly all human, so if you do buy the wrong session by accident, give us a call or email as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to sort out the muddle.

To book your place at a masterclass, you will need a separate ticket for each. We add more details about the masterclasses before the event, so be sure to check back regularly.

Your ticket will be emailed to you as we do not send out paper tickets. If you are purchasing tickets as a gift for somebody else and you would like PDF tickets emailed to you, please email info@thewhiskylounge.com, stating the name(s) of the recipients.

Please note: ‘last pour’ is always 15 minutes prior to the session end time. This is non-negotiable!
