London Whisky Weekender Masterclasses 2017
May 12, 2017 - May 14, 2017
Masterclass Tickets now live!
It just wouldn’t be the London Whisky Weekender without a handful of truly outstanding masterclasses running in both sessions on Saturday. For these special classes we have secured some truly amazing whisky and people to present it.
Ian Chang is not only one of our pre-eminent distillers in the modern age of whisky distilling, he is also one of the most humble and ego-free people you will ever meet. He also has a wicked sense of humour.
We are delighted to welcome him to London and we hope that you will help make him feel at home here! You can start by doing yourselves a favour and getting yourself signed up for one of the two special classes he is preparing himself for..
Saturday, 1pm & 6pm, £10
It’s not everyday you get to taste world class, multi award-winning whiskies with the very man who puts them together. This class could be your whisky highlight of the year and will sell out quick! Rumour has it that he is bringing a suitcase of trinkets direct from Taiwan so prepare yourself for a real treat…
Old Bottling Vs New Bottling Angus Macraild, Old & Rare Expert
Saturday, 2.30pm & 7.30pm, £10
Angus is an old friend of The Whisky Lounge and we have watched his progress with great interest. He is now one of the world’s foremost experts on all things old and rare whisky-wise. In these classes Angus (and you) will be exploring the differences between classic expressions bottled in different eras.
An Audience with Doug McIvor Berry Brothers & Rudd £10
Doug McIvor is a bit of a legend in the whisky industry. Not only does he have access to, and therefore bottle, some of the finest aged casks of single malt, but he also one of the most naturally humorous people in the industry. This is a rare chance to sit in with him whilst he presents you some great whiskies whilst entertaining with his banter. Informal to say the least!
To attend any of the masterclasses a session ticket is also required, please state the order number on your session ticket when booking a class.
Please also note:
Each class will last approximately 60 minutes.
We do not send out ‘paper’ tickets. Once you have booked, you will be emailed a confirmation and your name will be added to our event register for entry on the door.
