The one and only and original Newcastle Whisky Festival is back for 2017!

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this is a must for any whisky fan, fanatic or even whisky newcomer.

Not only will you have the chance to taste the best of homegrown whiskies from all over Scotland, but we will also have a good selection of whiskies from all over the world for your delectation.

Throw in a smattering of tremendous workshops and ‘Under the Counter’ drams and the grand surroundings of Newcastle’s Civic Centre and you have a fantastic day out on the cards.

As always you also have a choice of sessions in order to ease the crowds slightly and make your life more comfortable!

Friday 10th March: 6-10pm

Saturday 11th March Early Session: 12pm-4pm

Saturday 11th March Late Session: 5pm-9pm.

Taster Tickets – these are single tickets allowing entry to the festival for the last two hours of any given session.

Here’s what each full session ticket includes:

  • Entry to one session, either 12am-4pm or 5pm-9pm (select which above)
  • Glencairn tasting glass
  • A bottle of water (for obvious purposes)
  • The Festival Guide
  • ALL WHISKIES SAMPLED IN MAIN HALL (not including ‘under the counter’ drams)

 How the festival works

Simply approach any of the exhibitor stands, ask politely for a dram and you shall receive a tasty glass of whisky (it really is that simple) Every exhibitor should know their whiskies inside out and it’s well worth taking advantage of this knowledge. They’ll be able to answer all and any whisky related questions you may have and will happily explain why their whisky is so damn tasty.

Under the counter drams

The vast majority of whiskies on show are available to taste within your ticket price.

However, ‘Under the Counter’ Token drams simply allow you access to some of the rare and more exclusive whiskies in the festival. We have three tiers of tokens available which can be purchased on the day;

White Tokens £3 each.

Orange Tokens £5 each

Black Tokens £10 each.

The Festival Shop

As in previous years we have our friends from The Whisky Exchange in the show to take care of all your purchasing needs and selling every whisky that you will find in the show.

Will keep appearing here at regular intervals, please keep checking back to see what whiskies are in store!

Please note:

‘Early-bird’ tickets are strictly limited and the offer will not be repeated once they are sold out.

Please ensure you buy tickets for the correct session. We cannot allow customers to ‘swap’ sessions on the day and you may be refused entry if you attempt this. If you mistakenly buy a ticket/s for the wrong session please email us at least 28 days before the event and we will endeavour to swap you over at our discretion.

To attend any of the masterclasses a session ticket is also required, please state the order number on your session ticket when booking a class.

We try our best to be accurate in our information, but exhibitors and special events are subject to change. These changes are often out of our control (particularly when and where exhibitors drop out) and we cannot be held responsible for these alterations.

Please also note:

‘Last Pour’ is always 15 minutes prior to the session end time. As it always has been and always will be. Please do not complain on the day when you not served beyond this time!

We do not send out ‘paper’ tickets. Once you have booked, you will be emailed a confirmation and your name will be added to our event register for entry on the door.

If they are a gift for somebody else and you would like PDF tickets emailed to you, please email info@thewhiskylounge.com, stating the names of the recipients.
