The Islay Festival 2019 – Boutique-y Tall Ship Tasting
May 27 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Islay Festival 2019 Boutique-y Tall Ship Tasting
This is a very special tasting with ‘Captain’ Dave Worthington of That Boutique-y Whisky Company.
Aside from an exclusive tasting, your surroundings will be very conducive too, among the sails and boons aboard the Tall Ship Irene!
We welcome to the Irene, Mr. Dave Worthington, legendary ex-blogger of Whisky Discovery fame and now ploughing his furrow as erstwhile Global Brand Ambassador for That Boutique-y Whisky Company! Dave has assured us he is putting together a tasting par excellence, a tour de force – or just some damn fine drams to you and me!
The Irene is one of the last remaining wooden sailing ketches in the world. She is over 100 years old, a sight to behold and has a fascinating story herself, which the ship’s crew can tell you all about whilst aboard.
This is a fantastic opportunity to look around this historic boat whilst tasting some very good whiskies – what more could you possibly want?!
We’ll be boarding the Irene at Port Ellen Pier at 10.45am sharp. You won’t need your sea legs for this one as we will be safely moored at the Port Ellen Ferry pier, but you may want waterproofs (if it rains) and grippy shoes for the deck!
*Please note that all Tall Ship Tastings are weather.
