The Islay Festival 2019 – Dram Fool Tall Ship Tasting
May 27 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Islay Festival 2019 Elements Tall Ship Tasting
This is a very special tasting where you’ll be making your way through some amazing drams from our friends at Dramfool, with Bruce Farquhar – Owner and chief bottler, as well as being his own brand ambassador!
Aside from an exclusive tasting, your surroundings will be very conducive too, among the sails and boons aboard the Tall Ship ‘The Flying Dutchman’!
The Dutchman is over 100 years old, having been rebuilt and refurbished to accommodate passengers in 2004, She is a sight to behold and has a fascinating story herself, which the ship’s crew can tell you all about whilst aboard.
Dramfool is the name given to Bruce’s growing independent bottling business, which he established in 2015. A massive enthusiast, Dram Fool is an extension of this enthusiasm and he has promised to bring some great stuff for you to taste!
This is a fantastic opportunity to look around this historic boat whilst tasting some very good whiskies – what more could you possibly want?!
We’ll be boarding the Dutchman at Caol Ila at 2.45pm sharp. You will be taken on a rib to the ship where the tasting will commence. You won’t need your sea legs for this one as we will be safely anchored at Caol Ila, but you may want waterproofs (if it rains) and grippy shoes for the deck!
*Please note that all Tall Ship Tastings are weather dependent.
