The Islay Festival 2019 – The Single Cask Tall Ship Sailing & Tasting
May 28 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The Islay Festival 2019 The Single Cask Tall Ship Tasting & Sailing
This is an incredible opportunity to sail the high seas on one of the last wooden sailing ketches in the world, ‘The Flying Dutchman‘, whilst tasting some amazing whiskies.
Only 9 customers will be able to set sail with us, so this is as exclusive as it comes!
The Flying Dutchman is is over 100 years old, having been rebuilt and refurbished to accommodate passengers in 2004, She is a sight to behold and has a fascinating story herself, which the ship’s crew can tell you all about whilst aboard.
The tasting itself will be of the latest from The Single Cask range, with their global ambassador, ‘Captain’ Tom MacArthur.
The Single Cask is a relative newcomer to the world of independent bottlers. They bottle rare and unusual single malts when they feel they are ready. And it is these, including a special whisky created for the festival, that we will be tasting. Tom is a great guy, very knowledgeable and with no airs and graces. We are confident he will do us/you proud!
The Flying Dutchman also has her own acclaimed chef on board who will be preparing some tasty nibbles for you!
We’ll be boarding at Port Ellen Pier at 1.45pm to set sail at 2pm sharp. Bring your sea legs, waterproofs and anything else you think you’ll need for this voyage. Life jackets will be provided!
*Please note that all Tall Ship Tastings are weather dependent.
