  • Continuing Solidarity

The outpouring of industry support from the Industry during the Covoid 19 is not showing any signs of relenting.

Beam Suntory have donated £121K to help hospitality workers in India and £222K to support Hospitals and care homes in Spain.

The Drinks Trust has raised £400K for UK based workers within the industry on zero hours contracts.

The Spirits Business’ Covid-19 Campaign to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and The Drinks Trust, is now up and running.

Elixir Distillers have blended a Karuizawa whisky using spirit distilled between 1963 and 1984, which will be offered in Whisky.Auction’s charity sale.

There’s also a cheeky Midleton 2001 that’s worth a look.

Teeling have released a limited-edition bottling from their Distillery Exclusive range, with all proceeds earmarked for charities supporting frontline workers.

Distilleries are continuing to switch to producing alcohol for sanitise with Loch Lomond, John Distilleries, Copper Rivet and Heaven Hill all stepping up.

The Wine and Spirit Trade Association have requested government support for the industries supply chain, and a six-month cut on alcohol duty.

Berry Bros & Rudd have selected the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND) as its charity partner for the next three years after the company’s wine buyer was diagnosed with the illness. Good Stuff.

  • Platinum Lochs!

Loch Lomond Group brands have cause to celebrate after Loch Lomond 12-Year-Old and Glen Scotia 25-Year-Old both received platinum honours at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. In all, they recorded twelve separate medals! Great work team!


  • Sea Faring Irish!

There’s a brand-new Irish Whisky on the market folks, Currach Irish Atlantic Kombu Kelp is the first whiskey to be finished in seaweed charred casks. This interests me greatly…


  • Canadian Best!

Vancouver Islands “Macaloney’s Caledonian Distillery” scooped 3 awards at this years World Whisky Awards. Happy Days!


  • Roaming to Buffalo!

Whisky Magazine has named Buffalo Trace Distillery the global Icons of Whisky Visitor Attraction of the Year 2020. While the distilleries Brands Picked up no less than 18 medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, including a Double Gold for Eagle Rare 17 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Great News!
