  • Tamdhu in Miniature!

Ian Macleod Distillers have released a gift collection of three miniature Tamdhu whiskies. Including the 12, 15 and Batch Strength 005 expressions. Nice.

  • The Art of Glengoyne

Poet and scriptwriter, Cat Hepburn has unveiled a literary artwork featuring her poem, Kiss, as part of a global exhibition by Glengoyne Whisky. Excellent!

  • Black Bottle Alchemy

Black Bottle have announced the global release of The Alchemy Series – comprising two brand-new, single-batch produced expressions. Cool…

  • Irish Orangery!

Jameson Orange, a whiskey spirit drink inspired by the Old Fashioned cocktail is here! Most engaging!

  • 5m for Ardgowan!

UK-based spirits producer Distil are investing up to £5 million in the Ardgowan Distillery in Scotland, which will include the build of a standalone Blackwoods Gin facility on the same site. Wowzer!

  • Auction Stuff

The Dalmore Decades auction is taking place at Sotheby’s in Hong Kong in October, and a percentage of money raised will be donated to the V&A Dundee as part of a four-year partnership that celebrates design, creativity, and vision. Good on them!

  • Rye Rye Rye!

Oxford Artisan Distillery has released a third batch of rye whisky to commemorate its fourth anniversary.

  • Oyster Re-stock!

Glenmorangie and scientists from Heriot-Watt University have worked together to return 20,000 native European oysters to the Dornoch Firth. The milestone comes as part of the Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project (DEEP), which has been restoring a sustainable native oyster reef in Scotland’s northeast. Great work!

  • ‘Roming in the Smoke!

Benromach have launched a second Sherry cask-matured Peat Smoke whisky, limited to 2,000 bottles in the UK. Get me one while you’re on!

  • Gelstons Wait is Over!

Samuel Gelston’s, is celebrating new listings for its Blended Irish Whiskey and Pinot Noir Cask Finish at selected Waitrose stores across the UK.

  • And Finally…

I’ve spent most of this week wondering around various distilleries in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I’d like to say that it was an absolute pleasure to talk to the good folks at Holyrood, Glengoyne and Clydeside distilleries. It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to go and see these places folks, go and have a look. And obviously – BE NICE!
