Edinburgh Whisky Festiva 2020 Tasting

27th-29th November 2020

Assembly Rooms, 54 George St., Edinburgh, EH2

We were to be back in Edinburgh in 2020…

Our Edinburgh Whisky Festival has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with more and more whisky brands and producers recognising the importance of our offering in the Scottish capital. This year we are adding even more interest by including other spirits, such as rum, cognac and gin.

What is it and how does it work?

Our festival ‘mechanic’ is very simple and easy to understand. We like it that way…

  • BUY a ticket
  • COME to the festival at the time stated on the ticket
  • Receive a FREE Glencairn Whisky Tasting Glass on entrance
  • Grab a FREE festival guide
  • GO and sample, for no additional cost, from over 100 whiskies
  • BUY spirits from the on-site retailer if you want to

It really is as easy as that.

Festival Masterclasses

What’s it all about?

Festival Masterclasses are the perfect chance to get up close and personal with some of the finest presenters in the business. Enjoy a relaxed and intimate tasting, away from the hustle and bustle of the main festival. Each Masterclass will be different, depending on who’s running it, and what the focus of the tasting is. Here you’ll get to taste some amazing drams, ask questions and actually converse with the people who know them best!

Click on the Masterclasses tab at the top of the page to find out more!

The Festival Shop

As always we will have a retail shop within the festival to look after your spirits shopping requirements. Keep an eye on this space for who that will be!

…will keep appearing here at regular intervals, please keep checking back to see what distilleries are in store for you!

We don’t want you to go hungry… and you won’t. Watch this space for news on what food will be available during the show.

The boring bit

Please, please ensure you buy tickets for the right session. We set strict limits on the number of tickets for each session so visitors can enjoy their whisky at their own pace. We are unable to swap tickets on the day. But, we’re mostly all human, so if you do buy the wrong session by accident, give us a call or email as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to sort out the muddle.

To book your place at a masterclass, you will need a separate ticket for each. We add more details about the masterclasses before the event, so be sure to check back regularly.

Your ticket will be emailed to you as we do not send out paper tickets. If you are purchasing tickets as a gift for somebody else and you would like PDF tickets emailed to you, please email info@thewhiskylounge.com, stating the name(s) of the recipients.

Please note: ‘last pour’ is always 15 minutes prior to the session end time. This is non-negotiable!

We operate a ‘Challenge 25’ policy. If we feel that you are fortunate to not look as old as 25, we will ask for ID to prove you are over 18 in order to gain entry to the festival. Do not be insulted if we do, be happy you are so youthful looking!

This venue does have disabled access via an appropriate ramp and/or lift.
If in doubt or you have any questions, please contact us at info@thewhiskylounge.com
