Manchester here we come and it’s our birthday…
Who would have thought it’s been a year since the Whisky Lounge wagon rolled into town! This year is not to be missed as we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary – Help us celebrate it in style!
If you haven’t been to one of our legendary festivals before you are in for a treat! If you have then you know what to expect, only this year we are back bigger and better. As well as the usual shenanigans, we have a few more surprises for you….
You’ll get to sample the best home-grown whiskies from Scotland, as well as all corners of the globe; The Manchester Whisky Festival attracts the finest distillers from as far afield as Taiwan, India, Japan and the USA. Simply approach any of the exhibitors stands, ask politely for a dram and you shall receive a tasty glass of whisky (it really is that simple!). Every exhibitor knows their whiskies inside out and it’s well worth taking advantage of this knowledge.
You can also sign up for our new-look masterclasses with the whisky-world’s most renowned experts (our own Eddie included!) and experience some rare ‘under the counter’ drams. And because it’s our 10th birthday, we’ve got some exciting stuff lined up that we can’t talk about just yet…so watch this space!

We deliberately set specific session times so the festival doesn’t get overcrowded, meaning you can sip and swallow at your own pace.

2nd Session: 6.30pm-10.30pm

What’s it all about?
Festival Masterclasses are the perfect chance to get up close and personal with some of the ‘whisky worlds’ finest speakers. Enjoy a relaxed and intimate tasting, away from the hustle and bustle of the main festival. Each Masterclass will be different, depending on who’s running it and what the focus of the tasting is. Here you’ll get to taste some amazing drams, ask questions and actually converse with the people who know them best!
Click on the Masterclasses tab at the top of the page to find out more!
Under the Counter Dram tokens
The vast majority of whiskies at the festival are available to taste within your ticket price. However, we recommend you take the opportunity to sample some of the rarer, more exclusive whiskies by purchasing Under the Counter dram tokens on the day.
Show your Under the Counter dram token to an exhibitor and wait for their nod of approval as they reveal their secret stash.
There are several tiers of tokens which can be purchased on the day, and exchanged for different levels of whisky:
- White tokens £3 each
- Orange tokens £5 each
- Black tokens £10 each
The Festival Shop
As in previous years, we will have a retail shop in the show to take care of all your purchasing needs and selling every whisky that you will find in the show.
…will keep appearing here at regular intervals, please keep checking back to see what distilleries are in store for you!
The boring bit
Please, please ensure you buy tickets for the right session. We set strict limits on the number of tickets for each session so visitors can enjoy their whisky at their own pace. We are unable to swap tickets on the day. But, we’re mostly all human, so if you do buy the wrong session by accident, give us a call or email as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to sort out the muddle.
To book your place at a masterclass, you will need a separate ticket for each. We add more details about the masterclasses before the event, so be sure to check back regularly.
Your ticket will be emailed to you as we do not send out paper tickets. If you are purchasing tickets as a gift for somebody else and you would like PDF tickets emailed to you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, stating the name(s) of the recipients.
Please note: ‘last pour’ is always 15 minutes prior to the session end time. This is non-negotiable!
